Dan Gifford - IRLARCHIVEBIO
Born and raised in the flat and windy wilds of Norfolk, it was inevitable that Dan was to be a man who would want to see the world. At eighteen he made his first move to Brazil where he learnt Portuguese. A year later he returned to study languages and literature in Oxford, graduating with a Masters Degree in German and Italian. He's a well-spoken bloke in many different languages. He's seen and lived in many countries since, and currently resides in Los Angeles.
Having worked his way up through the various levels of film, Dan was given his first film award by Danny Boyle at the Stella Artois Film awards in 2000. Since then he has managed to amass a very respectable collection of trophies and accolades from the likes of the Cannes Lions, World Gold Promax Awards, The London International Gold Award for best global campaign, Golds at the One Show USA, Grand Prix for the Best Film at the Eurobest Awards and Silver Sharks at Kinsale. His natural wanderlust means he's never complained about having to travel to collect the awards.
Dan is an experienced and accomplished director who has applied his trademark wit, sensitivity and visual slickness to over 200 commercials for clients such as Mercedes, Jeep, Nikon, Adidas, Toyota, The BBC, Nike, Heineken, McLaren, Ford and many more. His work has him constantly travelling the world, but he always makes time for regular visits back to the windy wilds of Norfolk.
